Our Pitch to Organic School Project was EPIC!

It’s so great to work with a client who enjoys the creative process, is open to new ideas, and is actually excited about the work! Oh, and as part of the creative crew, there is that rush of giving back and using one’s talents for good instead of evil.

We have been working with Organic School Project for about a month now. They have one very simple need: redesign their existing web site for maximum potential. We met with them several times to get as much information to devise the best solutions. New photography was one of them. Streamlining the copy to be more direct and approachable was another. And the web site itself…to transform it from a site that looked pieced together versus an aesthetically appealing site that told a story, could be a great resource tool, and engaged an audience whether it was kids, parents and teachers, donors or sponsors.

We presented our initial work last Tuesday. We were very excited about the meeting and had a hunch the client was going to really love it. First: the photography…rich, vibrant shots of kids digging in the dirt of their school gardens, tenderly caring for new plants, eating fresh food in the cafeteria and really showing the joy the kids get out of being part of this program.

Then there were the layouts of the homepage. Warm, clean and organized, it took the old site and kicked it up quite a few notches, infused it with a great color palette and even gave their existing logo a makeover.

We presented many examples of how the site could be a better resource tool for kids, parents and teachers and even donors. We described the technology plan for building and maintaining the site, sending email blasts, receiving contributions, and future growth.

Needless to say, the client was delighted and was enthusiastic about using their new site as a tool to help meet their goals and be a source of inspiration.
